Homeless Information

At W.K. Jackson Leadership Academy, we are committed to supporting students and families experiencing homelessness. In alignment with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, we ensure that every child has equal access to quality education, regardless of their housing situation.

Our Commitment Includes:

  • Immediate Enrollment: Students experiencing homelessness have the right to enroll immediately, even if they lack typically required documents such as proof of residency, immunization records, or birth certificates.

  • Transportation Assistance: We provide transportation support to maintain school stability, allowing students to continue attending their school of origin whenever feasible.

  • Academic Support: Additional educational services, including tutoring and access to extracurricular activities, are available to support academic success.

  • Community Resources: We collaborate with local organizations to connect families with essential services, such as housing assistance, healthcare, and counseling.

If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness, please contact our Homeless Liaison,Cathy Luster, at 405-242-5319.  We are here to provide support and ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
